activating 2007 Pro trial (from MS) with OEM key doesn't work
I didn't get any errors saying it was an incorrect product key, but the software still says Trial. It's my understanding that I can put the software on my desktop and laptop, but I'm not sure how to get this to work since I got the software in kind of an unusual way. It will not work with a retail license CD, whether it's a good copy or not. It most certainly will not work with any other OS. I've got all the necessary bits of paper, which I'm happy to show anyone; I'll even accept hacks, cracks and "patches", but how to I persuade it to accept a, ANY, product key?!? GJE.

Can I restore Windows 98 from an USB external CR-rom drive?
Each requires me to enter the CD Product Key first. I type it in exactly as it shows at the back of my manual, yet the software claims the number is invalid. I just got tired of updates not installing because my copy of Windows couldn't be verified as genuine...thats why I got the new product key. came with AT&T yahoo, but I never installed it and it was still showing as not installed. I have no access to another laptop and if I get a used CD-Rom drive on ebay then in the future I finally got an optical drive back up and working in this old laptop. From here you just follow the prompts, choose the components you want to install, enter the product key and you should be in business.
